Are your products organic?

All our products can be marketed as ‘organic’ as they contain a range of organic ingredients. We are very careful about where we source our ingredients as we want to ensure they are natural and of the best quality. It is not always possible to source organic for all of our ingredients range but all of our products contain organic and natural ingredients.

Our products are not ‘certified organic’ as this certification costs a lot of money which we would have to reflect in our prices. Instead, we focus on creating high quality natural products that deliver outstanding results.

It is important to note that a product does not have to be certified in order to be labelled as organic.

What is the shelf life of your products?

Creams, scrubs, oils, shampoos: 24 months

Serums: 12 months

Toners: 6 months

All our products are made to order so they will have the maximum shelf life when you receive them.

What preservatives do you use?

We use a combination of Ethylhexylglycerin and Phenoxyethanol which is a globally approved paraben-free preservative that is very effective against bacterial, yeast and fungal growth. We never add more than 1% in our products and despite trying a wide range of other preservatives in the past, we’ve always found this to be the best one in the market that doesn’t contain potentially dangerous and harsh chemicals.

Are your products suitable for vegans?

Most of our products are suitable for vegans; however, our moisturiser range contains silk protein and our lip balm, beard balm and beard wax contain beeswax. All our products are suitable for vegetarians.

Can I remove certain ingredients from your products?

It is not alwasy easy to change a formulation or remove ingredients. We cannot change our core formulations but if you have a request regarding a carrier oil or natural extract then please get in touch.

Can I add whatever ingredients I want to your products?

We have a comprehensive list of ingredients where you can select which ones you would like added to a product. If you select something that we don’t think will work well, we will let you know. Also, if you would like help in deciding which ingredients to add, please get in touch and we will be very happy to help.

Many of our customers don’t add anything to our standard product range but if you would like to create a bespoke range, we recommend adding no more than 2 or 3 additional ingredients to each product.

Can you create a bespoke product for me?

We can help you select additional ingredients to add to our products in order to create a bespoke product for your company. Our business model focuses on creating made to order premium products in a short timeframe at a competitive price. Developing a product from scratch is a lengthy and expensive process that generally takes 9 months by the time the full product testing is completed and this is not something we offer. 

However if you want to add an ingredient we do not usually use then we can charge a set-up fee to test this ingredient in our range. Please contact us to find out more.

For your pre-packaged range, do I have to get the products tested and approved before I can sell them?

No, the products in our pre-packaged range have already been approved to meet the EU legislative requirements. In order to sell any product under your own company brand, you must register the product on the EU portal. We will provide all the information you need in order to do this.

Do you offer a packaging and labelling service?

Hera Beauty offers a pre-packaged range of products where we manage everything end to end and you will receive your own-branded labelled products, ready for sale. If you would like more flexibility on what packaging you would like then with our bespoke service you can send your packaging directly to us for filling or we can help support and advise.

Are you fragrances natural?

We have a wide variety of fragrance oils to choose from (see our ingredients list) which are not natural but if you would like one added, we will use just a tiny amount that is well within the IFRA guidelines. Fragrance oils tend to last longer than natural scents and there is a wider variety to choose from.
If you would prefer to keep it natural, you can choose a fragrant essential oil instead or we’d be happy to help create an essential oil blend that’s perfect for your product.
The products within our retail ready range are lightly fragranced with essential oils that are 100% natural.

Who are some of the customers you work with?

Our customers include prestigious beauty schools, 5 star hotel spas and top amazon brands. We have loved watching some of our customers progress from small start-up enterprises to award-winning retailers and we are committed to supporting new businesses by having low minimum order quantites to help businesses get started.

Do you have a minimum or maximum order size?

We can cater for orders as small as 1 litre per product right up to orders of over 100 litres. Our minimum order size is dependent on which service you choose. Please read our ‘Services‘ section for more information.

What is your lead time for orders?

We aim to dispatch orders within 3-4 weeks of receipt of payment. Timeframes will vary depending on demand and are not guaranteed but you will be provided with an esimated delivery timeframe when you place an order. All are products are made to order to ensure they have the maximum shelf life when you receive them.

What are the shipping costs?

Shipping is charged at £6.99 + VAT if being shipped to the UK. For orders over £300, shipping to the UK is free. For international orders, customers can contact us for a quote or arrange their own courrier service.

Do I need to provide notification of my products if I want to sell them in the EU?

Yes. Regulation (EC) N° 1223/2009 (Article 13) states that all cosmetic products that will be placed on the market in the European Union need to be registered into the Cosmetic Product Notification Portal (CPNP) prior to being placed on this market.

Who is responsible for providing notification of a product on the Cosmetic Product Notification Portal (CPNP)?

The obligation to register a cosmetic product in the CPNP falls on the Responsible Person that puts it in the market. Each customer of Hera Beauty that sells cosmetic products under their own name or brand has the obligation to notify the products under their company name.
